Moving Background

Unreal
School project

For a recent project, I dove into Unreal Engine 5 to create three distinct videos, each featuring a reflective metal ball set against a different backdrop: a lush forest, a vast desert, and the rolling waves of the ocean. This was my first significant foray into using Unreal Engine, and it turned out to be an incredible learning experience. I got to grips with the software, focusing on how to manipulate materials and lighting to make the scenes come to life.

The challenge was to make the metal ball look as realistic and reflective as possible in each environment. This meant playing around with the lighting and shadows to see how they affected the ball's appearance, making it blend seamlessly into the forest, stand out in the stark desert, and glisten amidst the ocean scenery.

Working on these videos was a real eye-opener into the power of Unreal Engine 5, especially in terms of creating realistic materials and mastering lighting effects to enhance the overall mood and feel of the scenes. It was a project that not only bolstered my technical skills but also my creative thinking, pushing me to consider how different elements like light, texture, and movement can dramatically alter the perception of a single object.

Reflecting on this experience, it's clear how much I've learned and how these skills can be applied to future projects. It was a perfect blend of technical challenge and creative exploration, leaving me excited about what I can create next.
